We are pleased to announce Julia Pyke as our newest Patron.
The former leader of Sizewell C has been a passionate advocate of Combat2Coffee, supporting our mission to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the Armed Forces Community and their families.
Julia first became acquainted with our organisation when Sizewell C was initially seeking a catering provider for the site. Combat2Coffee was subsequently awarded the first on-site coffee shop, now known as Fusion, which has gone from strength to strength since opening in early 2025.
Julia said:
What stood out to me about Combat2Coffee’s mission was their commitment to employ veterans and ex-offenders, and not just to employ them, but to ensure people are able to succeed in the work world, alongside offering customers a genuine point of contact for a chat and an invitation to ‘spill the beans’.
I support their work because people who have served our country and have so much to offer are not always well supported when they return to civilian life. At the same time, more people are working remotely and meeting online, meaning there are fewer opportunities to connect.
Combat2Coffee deliberately creates space for conversation and that makes a real difference.
As Patron, Julia aims to champion Combat2Coffee’s mission and amplify its reach.
She shared:
I’d like to see Combat2Coffee continue to grow, creating more opportunities for more people to find employment, to connect, and to see a brighter future.
I hope more organisations will work with Combat2Coffee and learn from their approach to reintegration. Supporting people in this way is better for individuals and their families, better for employers and better for society.
