Our Outreach Team draws from powerful lived experience, bringing compassion and dedication that guide the services we provide and ensure we can reach and support even more people.
Mandy Small
Mandy is our Outreach Support Officer and brings with her a deep understanding of military life. Mandy served in the RAF for 12 years as a Police Dog Handler, during which she was deployed to Iraq multiple times and was injured on her last tour. It was during her deployment to Iraq in 2004 that Mandy met her husband, Chris, and together they had a son. Chris sadly passed away in 2016 as a result of military-related mental health challenges. Her experiences led Mandy to want to support others and raise awareness of the challenges veterans can face.
Mandy works across Suffolk and Essex, building relationships with the armed forces community and their families, discussing their needs, and drawing on both her lived experience and professional background.

Lydia Granfield
Lydia is our Veterans Outreach Worker. With lifelong ties to the military community, Lydia has been immersed in military life from an early age. Her father served in the Royal Anglian Regiment and her husband served alongside our founder, Nigel. Today, both her husband and son continue to serve.
Lydia has devoted her life to supporting others since joining the Combat2Coffee team in late 2021. A familiar and trusted face within the armed forces community across the county, she works closely with individuals and their families to provide practical support, guidance and a listening ear.
When you’re ready to talk, we’re ready to listen
If you or someone part of the armed forces community need support with practical or emotional challenges, our Outreach Team is here to help.
We can provide direct, 1-to-1 support and can connect you to the services you need, including mental health support, physical wellbeing services, employment and training opportunities, housing advice, and wider community support.
We also help individuals stay connected to the veteran community in their local area, reducing isolation.
For urgent support, please refer to our signposting page for organisations that offer 24/7 support.
