At Combat2Coffee, we work across a wide range of prisons in the UK, supporting individuals at some of the most critical and influential moments in their lives.
We work in Altcourse, Chelmsford, Fosse Way, Hollesley Bay, Highpoint and Millsike to provide purposeful activities to help people rebuild connection, identity, and resilience.
Our work includes supporting veterans, who make up 3.6% of the prison population (Ministry of Justice, 2024). While often overlooked, veterans in custody frequently face complex challenges linked to trauma, identity loss, and mental health.
By engaging people at pivotal points in their sentence, we help break the cycle of reoffending, contributing to safer prisons, stronger communities, and lasting change.
Our work is not just transactional, it’s driven by a commitment to reducing reoffending and supporting people to build meaningful, sustainable futures.

Barista training
Our barista training programmes provide prisoners with hands-on experience in a fully equipped, professional café-style environment.
Upon successfully demonstrating their learning and practical abilities, each participant is awarded a Level 2 Barista Qualification, supporting their transition into meaningful employment upon release.
Visits
Working alongside our team, prisoners help prepare, cook, and serve a range of hot and cold meals, snacks, and drinks, delivering consistently high standards of service.
This hands-on experience enables prisoners to build strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills, while contributing meaningfully to the visitor experience.
What makes our approach unique is the way we work closely with prisoners to ensure families visiting the prison receive a friendly, welcoming, and professional experience.
Roastery workshop
Our Roastery Workshop immerses prisoners in the craft of coffee roasting. Participants learn each stage of the roasting process, from profiling and roasting to conducting rigorous quality control checks, including formal cupping protocols and tasting to ensure every batch meets exacting standards.
Our workshop provides participants with valuable technical skills, attention to detail, and real supply-chain experience, strengthening their readiness for employment upon release.
Hollesley Bay workshop
Combat2Coffee works in partnership with Hollesley Bay and GreenRock to produce 99.83% paper cups.
We operate a quality-control production line that manufactures cups for a wide range of organisations. Prisoners working in the workshop learn how to safely operate heavy machinery, gaining valuable skills, experience, and confidence that support their future employment opportunities.
